Meet the Sleeping Bag

The Sleeping Bag (previously the Jersey Sleeping Bag) is an arms-out sleeping bag for infants and toddlers. It's slim-fit shape and stretchy organic jersey cotton material are similar to the fit and feel of a swaddle to help ease the transition out of swaddling to arms-out sleeping. We recommend this product as baby's first sleeping bag, after the swaddling newborn phase is over.

Materials & Care

Materials

Body & Lining: 95% Organic Cotton / 5% Elastane
Filling: 100% Organic Cotton

Sleeping Bag is made from and filled with Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified organic cotton that is non-toxic and gentle on irritable skin. All ergoPouch fabrics are dyed with non-toxic water based dyes. The Jersey Sleeping Bag is reviewed by the Eczema Association of Australasia (EAA) as a skin-friendly product.

Care

How to wash and dry your Sleeping Bag

  • Gentle cold machine wash in mild detergent
  • Do not soak or bleach
  • Tumble dry low
  • Warm iron if required
  • Do not dry clean

When cared for properly, this product will last several years and can be used for more than one baby. Our TOGs don't lose their warmth ratings over time, but a gentle fluff up in the dryer on a low setting helps maintain the fibre's loft, allowing air to circulate more effectively.

Warnings

Ensure you buy the correct size for your baby's weight, to prevent the Bag from riding up around your baby's face. See our Size Guide for more information.

For sleep only. Do not allow a child to walk around when wearing the Sleeping Bag. Not suitable for use in a 5 point harness.



Fire Hazard Label

As this product is made from organic cotton and is not treated with chemical fire retardants the following white fire label applies.

FIRE HAZARD LABEL according to AS/NZS 1249:2014: CAUTION Keep away from heat and flame.

How To Use

1. Lay Sleeping Bag on flat, low surface with zip open
2. Lay child on top of Sleeping Bag. Put arms through the arm holes and tuck legs into pouch, zip up.
3. To change a nappy or cool down child, zip open from the bottom of the pouch to release legs and lower torso. Zip closed again when finished.
4. Layer underneath for warmth as needed, and/or use our Arm Warmers on top for extra warmth.
Always sleep baby in a safe sleep environment.

To Sleeve or not to Sleeve?

When choosing between our Sleeping Bags with Sleeves or no Sleeves it can be confusing. We get it. We suggest opting for what your child's preferences are, the climate you live in, and whether they like to have Layers or not. Some babies (hint toddlers) do, and others have strong opinions on what they like to wear to bed. Both designs are TOG rated, safe and comfortable, giving you peace of mind.

A slim fit sleeping bag, made from stretchy organic cotton material. The ideal first sleeping bag for an infant who has recently come out of a swaddle. Available in 3-12M, 8-24M and 2-4Y sizes. Options for both sleeved and sleeveless varieties in 2.5 TOG.

 

Premium Sleeping Bag

 

A looser fitting sleeping bag, made from a luxurious non stretch fabric with stretch panels down the sides for movement. Ideal for older infants and toddlers who prefer more room in their pouch. Available in 8-24M, 2-4Y and 4-6Y sizes. 2.5 TOG is available in sleeveless variety only.

 

Side Zip Premium Sleeping Bag

 

A regular fitting sleeping bag, made from the same luxurious material as the Premium Sleeping Bag, but with an extra long zip that runs from the neck hole around the outside of the pouch. Ideal for tummy sleepers. Available in 3-12M, 8-24M and 2-4Y sizes. 2.5 TOG is available in a sleeved variety only.
