If you’re new around here, we get it. We’ve been there. Think of TOG as a rating of warmth. TOG (rhymes with ‘dog’) stands for ‘Thermal Overall Grade’ and is a simple measurement to tell you how thick and warm your baby's sleepwear is. To keep a baby warm during sleep and to reduce the risk of SIDs, we dress them in wearable blankets (or sleeping bags as they’re commonly called) and pair with TOG-rated Layers or Pyjamas.
TOG’s come in different ‘ratings’. The rating is typically a number, and that number indicates the warmth factor of the fabric. (At ergoPouch, these range from 0.2 to 3.5 TOG).
To determine the right combination of pouches and layers, you simply match the TOG rating to the temperature of the room your baby is sleeping in.
